Sound: A energy that propagates through a host medium in the form of the longitudinal waves.
- pressure waves.
Sound doesn’t travel through vacuum.
3 elements:
- amplitude- loudness
- frequency- pitch
- wave shape- Tombaugh- character of the sound

Estimate the speed of sound.

We did the experiment in the park. I think I simultaneously hear the voice and see the hands down. And I think my result is not accurate as I think the time I react and press the stop button is also included in the time.
I already know how to do recordings in logic pro, so that’s a good advantage of me. But my recording quality is low. I do not how to make my voice clearer even though I have a mic. The quality of using a mic is even worse than the quality of using an iPhone.

Digital: pertaining to the digits =countable Sample frequency: the rate of the clock ticks -determines the quality of the recording.
Master clock
I adjusted the playback rate.
When it is lower than 1, the overall pitch goes lower. When it is higher than 1, the overall pitch goes higher. I think this will be important as if I suddenly want my music tempo faster, I adjust the master clock then the pitch and the quality of the sound will be changed. That might not what I wanted.
Analogue recording devices
I have heard the Leon Scott ‘s recording of the music scale. I find that the pitch isalmost standard, but the quality of the sound is low.
Recording and recording history
Look back to the history, I think the covid period is also let the recording industry grown up as people cannot went to the concert or live. They can only listen to music at home.

Laptop studio tech As a singer but who wants to be a music producer, I think the most useful 3 things: Microphone, keyboard and logic pro(DAW).MP3 revolution
Positive:
- easier access to music
- more creative possibilities for everyone.
Negative:
- Revenue loss
- Lower sound quality. -MP3 has lower sound quality than WAV..
If audience expected the music is free, the financial statement of musicians will be less.
Online music distribution platforms
Online music distribution platforms provide massive opportunities to musicians. Recording company is no longer necessary to musicians. However, there is more competitive in the music market. Musicians need to obey algorithms to spread their music so that they might pursue brainwashing hook and sequence. In addition, Musicians need to engage with audience to know their taste. As one of musicians, I will analysis the data of my music and investigate the audience’s favour through the platforms. But I will also focus on my own musical development and have my own style.
